What to Expect

Memorial Park has three services each weekend: one on Saturday Night at 6:00 PM in the Clayton Center, and two on Sunday morning at 9:00 & 11:15 AM in the Sanctuary.

We generally have two special presentations during Advent at our weekend services: a Christmas cantata and the Children’s Ministries Christmas Pageant. Our Christmas cantata this year is “A Christmas Light,” by Benjamin Harlan, which will be performed by the MPC Chancel Choir and Orchestra at both the 9:00 & 11:15 AM services on Sunday, December 9.

The following weekend, Sunday, December 16, the Children’s Ministries Christmas Pageant will be performed at the 9:00 AM service.

For our Christmas services, a Contemporary Candlelight Service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Services on Sunday, December 23 will be held at 9:00 & 11:15 AM.

On Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24), we will also have a Family Candlelight Service at 5:00 PM and two Traditional Candlelight Services at 7:00 & 9:00 PM.

Each of our services is generally an hour in length, and we sing a mix of traditional and favorite Christmas songs and hymns. At the Candlelight services, members and visitors are handed candles as they enter the service, and the Ushers will light them during service for the singing of “Silent Night.” Candles are collected as you leave the service. Children are invited to participate as well, at the discretion of their parents.

We have no dress code here at Memorial Park; rather, we invite you to come in your Christmas best or wear what is comfortable. We simply invite you to come as you are!

Programs on Sundays

Childcare for newborns to children 12 months old is available in our Nursery. Our Toddler Walker room for 1-year-olds is located downstairs in the Children’s Wing.

TRU Explore for ages 2-Kindergarten is available, as well. Themed activities related to the morning's lesson are presented in the Woodlands (ages 2 - 3), and the Savanna (ages 4 - K), both located downstairs in the Children's Ministries Wing. Each of these childcare options is available at each of our services, as well as during our designated Discipleship Hour.
TRU Worship for children in grades 1-5 offers an opportunity for families to worship together at the beginning of the 9:00 AM Sunday service. Kids are dismissed before the message for age-appropriate worship in the Children’s Wing.

We also offer TRU Kids classes for ages 1 through grade 5 during Discipleship Hour on Sunday mornings from 10:10-11:00 AM. Find out more about our programs for kids on the Children’s Ministries page.

TRU Kids will not be offered on Sunday, December 30.
Teens are encouraged to worship with their parents at all weekend services. During Discipleship Hour from 10:10-11:00 AM on Sunday mornings, teens have an opportunity to engage in Student IMPACT. These regular weekly meetings are designed to support students as they journey through life during the challenging years of middle school and high school. Find out more about our programs for teens on the Student IMPACT page.

Student IMPACT will not be offered on Sunday, December 23 or Sunday, December 30.
During our designated Discipleship Hour between the Sunday morning services, we offer a number of Adult Classes to engage you in an intentional discipleship ministry that is both inwardly strong and outwardly focused, encouraging greater maturity in their relationship with Christ. Our purpose is to seek together how we can live out our Christian faith more practically. The goal is not just to inform our minds but to transform our hearts, so that we can look more like Jesus in our thinking, acting and feeling. We offer a new selection of Adult Classes throughout the year in six sessions. Find out more about class offerings on the Adult Classes page.
The Clayton Center & Main Building Cafés
Before, between, and after services, our Cafés are generally open and serving light refreshments. On Saturday evenings, visit the Clayton Center Café for a beverage or some light snacks. Coffee and tea are available Sunday mornings at the Café next to the Sanctuary. The Café is staffed by a team of volunteers from Memorial Park and are organized by the Memorial Park Deacons. The Cafés will not be open during Christmas Eve services.

The Connections Corner
If you have questions about Memorial Park or would like to get involved, the Connections Corner (located across from the main building Café) is the place to go for more information on what’s happening at Memorial Park.
