I have been privileged to serve Memorial Park as her Senior/Lead Pastor for over 10 years now. As our 'Head of Staff,' I have the joy of leading a team of wonderful and dedicated followers of Jesus (Elders and Staff) who serve God and neighbors—near and far. As MPC's Lead Pastor, I enjoy the majority of the teaching, preaching and visioning responsibilities for this great congregation. For my wife Beth, myself, our six (largely grown and mostly out of the house) children, and our new granddaughter—it is all about family—and we could not imagine a better place to call home! We love Memorial Park Church and think if you give us a try, you will too!

Rev. Betsy Rumer, Executive Pastor of Ministry
As MPC’s Executive Pastor of Ministry, Pastor Betsy loves to help people follow Jesus Christ more completely and find greater joy in their lives. In addition to preaching and teaching, she supervises MPCs ministries, classes and groups with the goal of helping us to grow as a dynamic, welcoming community carrying the gospel into all areas of our lives.
Pastor Betsy serves as the Chairperson of the World Outreach Committee for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church as well as on the boards of directors for both EduNations and Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International.
Pastor Betsy and her husband Roger have been married for 35 years and have two grown daughters. In her “free time” Pastor Betsy loves to dote on their new granddaughter and is also a certified fitness instructor.
Pastor Betsy has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego and a Masters of Divinity from the Trinity School for Ministry where she became a self-proclaimed New Testament Greek nerd!
Rev. Dr. Kevin A. Gourley, Pastor of Congregational Care
It has been my honor and privilege to serve Memorial Park for over 26 years. MPC has been my wife Betsy's true home since 1965! This position fits me like a glove! I love working with a team of Christian leaders strong in their gifting and vulnerable in their self-awareness. My primary passion is to simply be a Pastor/Shepherd to this great congregation. I have various responsibilities in the areas of prayer, visitation, counseling, and working with the Deacons. I also have the joy of teaching, preaching, presiding over funerals, baptisms, etc. In this setting I have grown tremendously in my faith, seen my family love and serve the Lord, and found lifelong friends. Both of my sons, John Hunter and Evan grew up at MPC and were discipled in their faith through our dynamic youth ministry. I can't think of a better place to call home!
Pastor Kevin is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in History; Columbia Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity; and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Care.
Rev. Dr. Karen Anderson, Pastor of Visitation and Senior Life
When I retired from full-time ministry in 2014, I felt that God still had more for me to do as a pastor and was excited to be called to Memorial Park as part of the pastoral care team and to guide the ministry to others in the “third stage of adulthood”. This call gives me a chance to use the many skills and experiences I have gained as a director of Christian Education, solo pastor, and associate pastor in over twenty-five years of ministry. Senior adults have so much to offer all of us in the church and yet they still need nurturing and encouragement in their ever-growing faith in Christ. They bless me in every encounter I have with them. It’s been a joy to be “pastor to the seniors.” My husband, David (retired for 15 years from G.E.) and I love Pittsburgh, which has been our home since 2010. We were delighted when our daughter and her family joined us here in 2014. They worship with us at Memorial Park.
Pastor Karen graduated from Edinboro University with a B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and holds a M.Div. and D. Min. from Pittsburgh Seminary.
Rev. Paul Housman, Pastor of Outreach
I am overwhelmed at God’s goodness to send me here to serve at Memorial Park Church. I started here as an Interim Minister of Worship and the Arts, subbing for, and assisting, my good friend Jim Lueers. During that time I felt the Spirit moving toward me staying and I am amazed at the affirmations and confirmations from many people here of God’s leading toward this position. Thank you, Lord, and thank you! I have fallen in love with the people here and look forward to fruitful ministry as God leads. This all reminds me that I should never be surprised at what God does, just amazed! I have a desire to worship God as a lifestyle in Spirit and truth, loving God with all my heart (volition), soul (emotion), mind (thought life), and strength (physical action). I find great joy in seeing people find Jesus as their Lord and Savior; joining in with them on the life long journey to Christian maturity in thought, word, and deed. My continual prayer is to do God’s will, God’s way, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. Doing the next right thing, whatever that may be.
